I would under no circumstances put one from the lanai. The moisture from it would be not be great with the ceiling's drywall. Sunshine Awnings are pre-authorised for installation with ARC. You don't will need ARC approval. The one purpose you would drop by ARC is if you choose a color that isn't on their own pre-authorised listing.  Carolina
